Inner Path Acupuncture
My name is Rachel Berners and i love cats, mountains and collecting vinyl (mainly cats). I have a ferociously playful rescue cat called Laurence. She has a problem with her voice-box, so when she meows she sounds just like Cartman from South Park! Somehow we were made for each-other.
I am also a passionate Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Acupuncturist and Energy Healer. I have been in practice for 16 years and i still love it! Chinese Medicine has taught me so much about life and about myself, and i love to share the deep wisdom of this ancient healing tradition with others.
I create a relaxed and nurturing space for my clients to slow down, re-centre, and re-connect with themselves. In this busy world with lots of outer distraction, we all need a place that we can retreat to re-balance and get back in touch with our body, our feelings and our highest wisdom.
Deeply embedded in the philosophy of Chinese Medicine is the principle that all beings have a natural tendency towards balance and harmony. I believe that our bodies are innately intelligent, designed to self-regulate and self-heal. It's what disrupts this intelligence that creates suffering and physical dis-ease.
I have particular interest in the psycho-emotional aspects of why people don't heal, and how identifying and addressing any underlying energetic patterns of disharmony can initiate the healing process.
My practice is WHOLE PERSON FOCUSED,
Rather than purely treating symptoms, i look at how a person has lost balance (within themselves, and in relation to the greater context of their lives) and how this balance can be re-established. I love Empowering my clients to create positive change.
My formal training includes a Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Biology and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Chinese Medicine (R.M.I.T University).
I completed a one year academic internship at the JiangSu Provincial Hospital in Nanjing, China.
A huge turning point in my career came when i began researching into the Hindu system of energy-healing. I knew deep inside that using this powerful template for healing was going to be part of my future.
Through the sheer perfection of universal timing i found my next teacher, Dr Mikio Sankey (Founder of Esoteric Acupuncture, Los Angeles CA).
Esoteric Acupuncture focuses on the utilisation of Traditional Chinese Acupuncture Theory, along with the Hindu Chakra System, Sacred Geometry and the Qabbalistic Tree of Life.
The main principle of Esoteric Acupuncture is to harmonise the seven centres (also known as chakras) within our energy field, gently allowing the release of suppressed emotional Qi and centering the Heart (Xin).
After studying with Dr Mikio Sankey over the course of three years i became a qualified Esoteric Acupuncturist in 2012.
I am currently studying meditation with Dr Joe Dispenza (Chiropractor, Neuroscientist and Author).
I am a CMBA registered practitioner of Chinese medicine. I hold current registration with the Australian Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Association and the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
I support the LGBTQ community.
